NWOSU Art Society Gearing Up for 23rd Annual Art Show, Entry Forms Due March 2

ALVA, Okla. – Registration is open for the 23rd annual Northwestern Oklahoma State University Art Society Art Show set for March 13-31 at the J.W. Martin Library on the Alva Campus.

An entry form, the categories to enter, and instructions are available at https://www.nwosu.edu/art/nas-art-show and are due no later than March 2. Artists can drop off their artwork in the back of J.W. Martin Library on March 9 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and March 10 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Entries are free and are open to all current Northwestern students and employees, as well as alumni and retired employees of the university.

The exhibition is free and open to the public during regular library hours. Due to spring break, the library will be closed March 16-19 and will reopen March 20-21 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The library is closed on Saturdays.

Cash prizes will be awarded to current students in the various categories. Ribbons will be awarded to all winners. The student Best of Show winner receives $50, with $10 prizes for first-place finishers in each category. Students and non-students are eligible for the $25 People's Choice award, which will be awarded to the artwork selected by viewers and voters at the show.

Award-winning pieces will advance to a Winners' Show on Friday, April 3, from 6-8 p.m. at the Runnymede in downtown Alva, coinciding with the monthly First Friday Artwalk.

Artists may collect non-winning artwork on Thursday, April 2, by 5:30 p.m. at the library. Winners' Show-pieces can be picked up at the conclusion of that event at the Runnymede.
