Self Service

All Northwestern students are provided with a Self-Service account.  This account allows you to view your class schedule, grades, financial aid, and billing information, as well as register for classes and keep your records current.  Self-Service is the primary online system you will use to manage your student information while you are enrolled at Northwestern.

Login Instructions

1. Determine Your Username

Your username is the first part of your NWOSU student email address.

Example - Username

Name: Jane B. Doe 
Student ID Number: 0012345
Username:  jbdoe45 (all lowercase)

2. Default Password Format

Your default password is made up of the following:

  • The first letter of your first name (lowercase)
  • The first letter of your last name (lowercase)
  • Your 8-digit date of birth (MMDDYYYY)
  • An exclamation point (!) at the end

Example - Default Password

Name: Jane Doe
Birthdate: April 17, 2005 (04/17/2005)
Default Password: jd04172005!

The letters in your default password are lowercase.

3. Create a New Password

The first time you log into Self-Service, you will be prompted to create a new password. Your new password must meet the following requirements:

  • 6 - 9 characters long
  • Must include at least one uppercase letter
  • Must include at least one lowercase letter
  • Must contain at least one number
  • Your password cannot contain special characters
  • Your password cannot contain any part of your name

Changing your password in Self-Service will also update your password for Blackboard and your NWOSU email account.
