NWOSU Art Society Announces Campus Art Show Winners; Winning Pieces at Runnymede April 3

Alva junior Elayna Warrington is the top student winner in the 23rd annual NWOSU Art Society Art Show. This drawing and several other winning pieces will be on display at the Runnymede April 3 from 6-8 p.m. during the First Friday Artwalk.

Retired Dean of Arts and Sciences Dr. Mike Knedler is the winner of the non-student division at the NWOSU Art Society Art Show that has been on display in the J.W. Martin Library throughout March. A student drawing in the animal/creature category of Works on Paper and a painting in the non-student landscape/nature category have been selected as the Best of Show winners in their respective divisions during the 23rd annual Northwestern Oklahoma State University Art Society Art Show.
Elayna Warrington, an Alva junior majoring in biology-natural history, is the Student Division winner with “Through the Deep Dark Valley.”
The Non-Student Division winner for those who are current/retired employees or alumni is Dr. Mike Knedler, retired Dean of Arts and Sciences, with “Anderson Redwoods.”
After counting all the votes in the campus People’s Choice contest, Addyson Bryan, a Sharon, Kansas, sophomore majoring in visual arts, is the winner with a nature painting titled “Migration.”
A Winners’ Show of all pieces winning an award will take place on April 3 in downtown Alva at The Runnymede, across the street from the Alva Police Department. The artwork will be on display on the first floor of the building from 6-8 p.m. It is free and open to the public.
Artwork from the Runnymede may be picked up after the show, at 8 p.m. on April 3.
