University Singers to Perform May 1 at Alva First Presbyterian Church

Members of the University Singers – biology majors Rylee Ott, Forgan junior, and Jenna Johnson, Mustang freshman -- perform at the Alva First Presbyterian Church in March 2026. The last concert of the season is on May 1 at 7 p.m. at the church location.
ALVA, Okla. — The Northwestern Oklahoma State University Reichenberger Department of Fine Arts vocal music program will present “Love's Embrace: Music of Comfort, Compassion and Connection” on Friday, May 1, at 7 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Alva. The program is free and open to the public.
It will showcase the versatility and artistry of Northwestern's choral program. The University Singers will open the program with a diverse selection of contemporary and traditional works, featuring music by artists such as Pentatonix, Sinéad O’Connor, and Billy Joel, as well as spiritual and classical repertoire.
Following a brief intermission, the University Chorale and Concert Choir will join forces with a full orchestra to present Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Vesperae Solennes de Confessore, K. 339. This masterwork, celebrated for its brilliance and expressive depth, offers a powerful and uplifting conclusion to the evening.
This performance highlights the collaborative spirit and musical excellence of Northwestern’s choral ensembles and promises an engaging experience for audiences of all backgrounds.
