Northwestern’s Tuba Christmas Concert Dec. 6 on Alva’s Downtown Square

ALVA, Okla. -- The instrumental music program at Northwestern Oklahoma State University will present a free “TubaChristmas” concert in downtown Alva on the Woods County Courthouse bandstand stage as part of the Alva Chamber of Commerce’s Bring Christmas Home for the Holidays event.
On Saturday, Dec. 6, registration will begin at 12:30 p.m. at the Alva Presbyterian Church, with rehearsal following at 1 p.m. The performance will then move to the downtown square at 3 p.m.
TubaChristmas is open to everyone with all levels of experience who play tuba, sousaphone, euphonium and baritone. Contact Alexander Perkins, instructor of instrumental music and director of bands, if planning to participate or use the registration form.
All those participating should bring their $15 registration fee, instruments (decorations are optional but encouraged), a folding stand for the performance, a pencil and a holiday spirit.
Perkins also noted that participants should bring their “Carols for a Merry TubaChristmas” book (treble or bass clef). Books will also be available for purchase on-site while supplies last.
