Northwestern to close for Holiday Break Dec. 19; Reopen Jan. 5

ALVA, Okla. — Northwestern Oklahoma State University will close for the holiday break beginning Friday, Dec. 19, 2025. All Northwestern locations and offices will reopen Monday, Jan. 5, 2026.

Spring interim classes began Monday, Dec. 15, 2025, and end Friday, Jan. 9, 2026. Northwestern’s 16-week spring semester classes will begin on Monday, Jan. 12, 2026.

Enrollment for spring courses is open, and new and returning students are encouraged to enroll as soon as possible to ensure course availability. The spring 2026 semester schedule of courses is available online at nwosu.edu/course-schedules. The last day to enroll is Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2026.

Two scholarship application deadlines that occur early in the spring semester are for departmental scholarships (Feb. 15) and the continuing student scholarship application for academic scholarships (March 15). Online forms for both are available at nwosu.edu/paying-for-college/scholarships.

Students should fill out the FAFSA form for financial aid for the spring 2026 semester and are encouraged to do so at studentaid.gov. Follow Northwestern on social media for current updates.

High school juniors and seniors also should consider getting enrolled at Northwestern to take advantage of free tuition. To learn more visit nwosu.edu/apply-for-admission/concurrent-students.

High School seniors and transfer students should also mark their calendars for Northwestern’s Spring Showcase, scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 21, 2026.
