Northwestern Esports to Sponsor Regional Oklahoma Scholastic Esports Tournament on Enid Campus Oct. 27

ENID, Okla. — The Northwestern Oklahoma State University Esports team will play host to the regional Oklahoma Scholastic Esports “Super Smash Brothers” Tournament Monday, Oct. 27, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the Northwestern-Enid campus.
Nine local schools are registered with approximately 75 middle and high school students competing in their respective divisions. High schools competing include Blackwell, Buffalo, Canute, Davis, Laverne, Ponca City, Taloga and Watonga. Middle schools competing are Blackwell, Canute, Davis, Guymon, Ponca City and Taloga.
Students will compete throughout the day in preliminary matches, with final matches in the afternoon. Players advance by winning head-to-head matches.
Points will be earned by participants based on their wins and losses from the tournament. Those points will be used from this tournament and other regional tournaments this semester to determine invite standings for state playoffs. The public is welcome to observe the competition.
