Nursing Student Spotlights

Kayla ThorntonKayla Thornton, RN

Northwestern’s nursing program gave me so many opportunities to get my foot in the door of nursing. The Division of Nursing was always eager to help and support me as I moved through the program. If I had to do it all over again, I’d choose NWOSU in a heartbeat.

Ashley Watkins and familyI’m proud to be a Northwestern Nursing School Graduate! Not only did I get a great education and skills to help me excel in my career, but I also made lifelong friends and connections! At NWOSU you will always have someone in your corner helping you become the best nurse you can be!

The NWOSU nursing program offers opportunities to students in a wide variety of settings and I believe that aids in preparation for developing careers after graduation. One of the most important aspects of NWOSU nursing is the ability to set the foundations for skills used in nursing careers, especially critical thinking which I use in my career as a Neonatal Intensive Care Nurse.

My time at Northwestern laid the foundation for my success as a Registered Nurse. One of my favorite parts of the nursing program was the small class size and the support I received from the faculty. The education I received adequately prepared me for my MSN program.
