Pencil Drawings Earn Best of Show Honors at 20th Art Society Art Show

Jillian Bouse’s pencil drawing “How About That? Felines Have Canines!” is the best-of-show winner for students in the 20th annual NWOSU Art Society Art Show. The show ends on campus in the J.W. Martin Library on March 31.

Angelia Case’s pencil drawing named “Len and Buddy” is the best-of-show winner among current/retired employees and alumni entries in the 20th annual NWOSU Art Society Art Show. The show ends on campus in the J.W. Martin Library on March 31. A Winner’s Only Show will take place at the Runnymede in downtown Alva from 6-8 p.m. on April 7 during the First Friday Artwalk events.

Two pencil drawings have captured the Best of Show honors in the 20th annual Northwestern Oklahoma State University Art Society Art Show that will end at 5 p.m. March 31 in the J.W. Martin Library.

“How About That? Felines Have Canines!” a pencil drawing by Jillian Bouse, Woodward senior majoring in biology, earned top honors this year in the student division along with a purple ribbon and $50 while “Len and Buddy,” a pencil drawing by Angelia Case, academic projects assistant/media specialist at Northwestern, won in the non-student division that is open to all Northwestern alumni and current/retired employees.

The deadline to vote for a People’s Choice winner from among all items entered is 5 p.m. on March 24. This winner will receive a ribbon and $25.

All of the winning art pieces including those placing first through third will be on display April 7 from 6 to 8 p.m. for a Winners’ Only Show during the annual First Friday Art Walk event at the Runnymede in downtown Alva.

Following the end of the campus show, all non-placing artwork should be picked up by 5:30 p.m. Monday, April 3, from the J.W. Martin Library.

Artwork in the Winners’ Only Show may be picked up at the end of the show on April 7 at 8 p.m. from the Runnymede. Artists are highly encouraged to attend this winners’ show.

Any remaining artwork may be picked up from Ryerson Hall 211 by 5:30 p.m. on April 10.
