Northwestern's homecoming will feature Snapchat Geofilters

September 21, 2018

Northwestern Oklahoma State University’s Homecoming will feature four different Snapchat Geofilters for certain events.

Snapchat Geofilters are a way for people to share what they’re doing and where they are on Snapchat. They are playful graphic overlays that are placed as a frame around the photos and videos that users take in Snapchat.

There will be a Miss Cinderella talent night filter that will be active from 6 to 10 p.m. in the Herod Hall Auditorium on Oct. 4. The Miss Cinderella Pageant night filter will be active from 7 to 11 p.m. in the Herod Hall Auditorium on Oct. 5. The Homecoming parade filter will be active from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Alva downtown square area on Oct. 6. There will be a Homecoming football game filter that will be active from noon to 6 p.m. in the Ranger stadium area.

In order to use a Geofilter, users need to make sure they have enabled the “filters” feature in their Snapchat settings and have turned on location services for Snapchat. When both of those features are enabled, users will be able to view the Geofilters.
