Northwestern Offering Tuition Assistance to Alva Community Members

Northwestern Oklahoma State University is now offering tuition assistance to Alva residents who are interested in completing their undergraduate degree. This benefit will be for residents who are not currently enrolled, have some college credit, and would like to explore ways to finish. Campus staff will be available for a come-and-go information night April 13 from 5-7 p.m. in the Student Center Ranger Room for interested community members.

“Our community supports this university and its students with employment opportunities, scholarships, internships and through our athletic programs,” Dr. Bo Hannaford, university president, said. “Alva is unique in its ability to fund the half-cent sales tax for economic development through our incentive scholarship program. We are thankful for the support of the community and would like to give back in this way.”

Concurrent and graduate students will not qualify for this program. Priority will be given to those who apply first as limited tuition waivers are available.
