Concert Series to Present 'Music of Mancini' April 19

“Jukebox Saturday Night” will perform the music of Henry Mancini for the final Northwest Oklahoma Concert Series April 19 at 7 p.m. in Northwestern’s Herod Hall Auditorium.

“The Music of Mancini” performed by “Jukebox Saturday Night” will be the final act of the season for the Northwest Oklahoma Concert Series April 19 at 7 p.m. in Northwestern Oklahoma State University’s Herod Hall Auditorium. The public is welcome to attend the concert with a ticket that may be purchased at the door for $20 for general admission or $5 for students.

“Jukebox Saturday Night” celebrates the compositions of Henry Mancini from his early work with the Glenn Miller Orchestra, including music from the film “The Glenn Miller Story” to his memorable melodies from TV and film classics such as “Peter Gunn,” “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” and “The Pink Panther.” 

“Jukebox Saturday Night” elaborates on America’s Swing Era, performing the greatest hits recorded by various artists, and vocal selections include songs made famous by Frank Sinatra, Doris Day, Bob Eberly, Helen O’Connell, Rosemary Clooney and other vocal idols.

This group is managed by Glenn Miller Productions, Inc. They have been under the World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra for over 60 years, giving them great skills in Swing.

The program includes “The Pink Panther Theme,” “The Days of Wine and Roses,” “Moon River,” “Charade,” “Baby Elephant Walk,” “Too Little Time,” “The Sweetheart Tree” and many others.

The reserved seating section will be held until five minutes before the performance.
