Northwestern Partners with Nile University in Nigeria
September 25, 2024
Northwestern Oklahoma State University’s Dr. Shawn Holliday, associate dean of graduate studies, recently initiated a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Nile University of Nigeria, located in Abuja, the capitol of Nigeria.
This agreement will allow Nigerian students to receive an American education while staying in their home country. This partnership will also provide increased tuition revenue for Northwestern, as well as an increased international presence.
“The purpose of this partnership is to develop a framework for cooperation between Northwestern and Nile University of Nigeria that will allow Nigerian students to stay in their home country to take college-level, credit-bearing courses from Northwestern that will lead to graduate degrees and marketable skills,” Holliday said.
Coursework will be provided to students at Nile University via interactive television, online and hybrid formats.
Nigerian students have the opportunity to enroll in the Master of Arts in Heritage Tourism and Conservation program, the Master of Education in Adult Education Management and Administration program, the Master of Science in General Psychology program, or in graduate-level English/literature courses, beginning in the spring 2025 semester.
