You're Invited to Family Day September 20, 2014
Families of all Northwestern Oklahoma State University students are invited to the Alva campus Saturday, September 20, 2014, for our annual Family Day festivities. Students will have the chance to win tuition waivers for the Spring 2015 semester.
“Shopping for Tuition” will take place on Friday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. Families are invited to visit participating Alva merchants and register to win tuition waivers for the spring semester. No purchase is necessary and families can register at each of the stores.
Families can register for Family Day between 9 and 11 a.m. on Saturday at the Northwestern Student Center and/or Bookstore to receive free tickets to the football game, goody bags and the chance to win door prizes. The families will be able to visit all campus buildings and facilities beginning at 9 a.m.
A reception for students, their family members and friends, faculty and staff will begin at 11 a.m. in the Ballroom of the Student Center. Dr. Janet Cunningham, University President, will speak briefly to those in attendance. Also on hand will be the Northwestern Cheerleading squad and Mascot Rowdy Ranger.
A tailgate cookout will begin at 11:45 a.m. on the Second Tier, Southeast Corner of Ranger Field. The $3 (per person) meal will consist of hamburgers, hotdogs, chips, cookies and a drink. The Ranger football team then takes the field against Arkansas-Monticello at 1 p.m.
At the game, three names will be drawn for prizes of $500, $300 and $200 tuition waivers provided by the Northwestern Foundation. A prize also will be given for the family member of a student who has traveled the furthest. The winners will be announced at halftime, and registered families must be present to win.
