Miss Northwestern, Outstanding Teen to be crowned Oct. 29

Contestants for the 2018 Miss Northwestern Pageant

Six Northwestern students from Kansas and Oklahoma will be participating in the Miss Northwestern pageant set for Sunday, Oct. 29. Miss Northwestern Oklahoma State University Kandi Hughart and Miss Northwestern’s Outstanding Teen Jody Webb will pass on their crowns Sunday, Oct. 29, to the two women who will be chosen to represent the university at the Miss Oklahoma Pageant in the coming year.

The pageants will take place in Herod Hall Auditorium at 4 p.m. Doors open at 3:30 p.m. Tickets are available in the Northwestern Business Office or from contestants for general admission $8 in advance or $10 at the door and $3 for students with ID. Competing for the Miss Northwestern title are: Katherine Blair, sophomore instrumental music major from Waynoka; Shelby Bender, sophomore nursing major from Cherokee;  Macie Malone, senior biology major from Bel Aire, Kansas; Mandra Maxwell, sophomore biology major from Okmulgee; Shelbi Morland, sophomore mathematics major from Laverne; and Meghan Webb, sophomore biology major from Alva.

Six high school students are participating in Miss Northwestern’s Outstanding Teen Pageant. Teens competing are Kate Barclay of Edmond, Taelyn Brown of Enid, Makenna Marchbanks of Blanchard, JoLee Guthrie of Woodward, Haydn Ralston of Stillwater and Carli Seabolt of Perry.

Contestants in both pageants will be judged in talent, interview, lifestyle and fitness and onstage question categories. Each contestant in both the Miss and Teen categories will receive participation scholarship awards and placement determines other prize earnings.
