Castle Players, DAR team up to recognize Constitution Week with daily ‘Constitutional Minute’; open to public

September 18, 2017

The nationally recognized Cherokee Outlet Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and Northwestern Oklahoma State University’s Castle Players will come together to present a “Constitutional Minute” every day this week in front of the J.W. Martin Library, in the central mall area, to celebrate Constitution Week.

On Monday, Wednesday and Friday the groups will meet at 11:50 a.m. and for Tuesday and Thursday at 12:15 p.m., Sept. 18–22.

DAR encourages everyone to come and enjoy a brief historical presentation about an individual, historic moment or other related topics, as this event is open to the public. DAR members will be looking for audience participation as they pose questions to the audience about the short reenactments.

DAR is a lineage-based, non-political women's society whose motto is God, Home, and Country. Over the years the chapter has worked to preserve local history and to encourage patriotism and civic responsibility. The chapter has also worked for and contributed to local, state and national DAR projects.
