Sixty Students present projects at Northwest Oklahoma Regional Science Fair

Sixty students from six different schools presented 41 projects during the Northwest Oklahoma Regional Science Fair held at Northwestern Oklahoma State University on Feb. 8.

Since 1957, Northwestern has played host to this science fair that services the northwest counties of Oklahoma and is a feeder fair for the Oklahoma State Science & Engineering Fair (OSSEF). State qualifiers will attend the OSSEF March 8-9 in Stillwater at Oklahoma State University (OSU).

Participants are divided into two categories: Division I, grades 10 -12, and Division II, grades 7-9. Award winners, their schools and their projects are listed below.

Overall Winners:

Division I – Grand Champion: Ethan Todd from Northwest Technology Center (Fairview), “Trametes Versicolor vs. Waste Tires;” Reserve Champion: Eli Harrel from Vici Public Schools, “The Right Mix: Which Soil Do Radishes Grow?”

Division II – Grand Champion: Rowdy Menefee and Rhielan Jackson from Vici Public Schools “Fletchins, Fletchins, Fletchins;” Reserve Champion: Ross Menefee and Chancey Nix from Vici Public Schools, “Don’t Choke”
