Six Northwestern Alumni to be Recognized as Outstanding Graduates April 27

Six individuals who earned their degrees at Northwestern Oklahoma State University will be honored for their accomplishments on Saturday, April 27, 2024, during the Northwestern Spring Alumni Reunion Banquet. (See schedule of events below.)

Mickey Jordan, Arts Category. Jordan, originally from Iowa Park, Texas, received his bachelor’s degree in speech and theatre in 2017, and then earned his master’s degree in American Studies at Northwestern. Jordan currently serves in the role as Instructor of Technical Theatre and Herod Hall Facilities Manager.

Jeff Allen, Business/Professional Category. Allen received his bachelor’s in 1987 and played on the Rangers baseball team. In 1992 he became a partner in the recently launched Associated Mortgage Corporation and within a year became the president and CEO of the Tulsa-based company. Under Allen’s leadership, the company has office in Tulsa; Oklahoma City; Amarillo, Texas; and Fayetteville and Rogers, Ark.

Kenneth Hamilton, Ph.D., Education Category. Dr. Hamilton, originally from Wichita, Kan., received bachelor’s of arts degree from Northwestern in 1968. He followed with a master’s degree from Kansas State University and his Ph.D. from Washington University. Dr. Hamilton serves as a professor and director of Ethic Studies at Southern Methodist University in Dallas.

Dana Jo Stanton, Humanitarian Category. Stanton, originally from Buffalo, Okla., received her bachelor’s degree in 1993. She currently serves as a childcare program specialist for the Northwest Kansas Innovation Center in Norton, Kan.

Sara Acosta, Ranger Recognition. Acosta is a native of Woodward, Okla., and earned her degree from Northwestern in 2014. The experience gained in Northwestern’s theatre productions provided her with the confidence to win a minor role in the 1883 series on the Paramount Network. Acosta continues to grow her acting profession.

Myra Davison, Ranger Spirit. Davison, originally from Okeene, Okla., received her degree in 1986. Davison worked at Northwestern for 38 years and retired in 2022 as the assistant to then-President Janet Cunningham. Davison remains a steadfast advocate for Northwestern and is present at most university events.

The Spring Alumni Reunion banquet on April 27 is open to all alumni and friends of Northwestern. It begins at 6:00 p.m. in Percefull Fieldhouse, and includes entrée options of filet mignon ($50) or a vegetarian dish ($25). In addition to the Outstanding Graduates for 2024 being recognized, recognition of the honored classes of 1954, 1964, 1974, 1984, 1999, 2014 and 2019 will take place. The University Singers, under the direction of Dr. Karsten Longhurst, will share their gift of song.

4:00 pm……………………President’s Reception, Ballroom, Student Center Classes of 1954, 1964, 1974, 1984, 1999, 2014 and 2019 and the 2024 Outstanding Graduates

4:30 pm……………………Pinning Ceremony, Ballroom, Student Center with 5, 10, 25, 50, 60 and 70-year Anniversary Graduates

5:00 pm……………………Senior Awards Presentations, Ranger Room, Student Center

6:00 pm……………………Alumni Banquet, Percefull Fieldhouse The program includes the Outstanding Graduate awards, recognition of our honored classes and music by the University Singers.
