Small school honor band at Northwestern March 29

Approximately 400 elementary, middle school and high school students from 13 schools in the region have been selected by their band directors for the Northwest Oklahoma Small School Honor Band at Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva on March 29.

Rehearsals will begin at 8:30 a.m. with a free concert open to the public at 6 p.m. in Herod Hall Auditorium. This is the first year for Northwestern’s music program to play host to this event.

Students attending are from Alva, Buffalo, Cherokee, Cimarron, Fargo, Kingfisher, Medford, Mooreland, Okeene, Ringwood, Seiling, Waukomis and Waynoka.

There will be two fifth and sixth grade bands, along with a seventh through 12th grade band, a wind ensemble and a drumline.
