Northwestern Oklahoma State University welcomes 26 new staff members to campus. Short biographies of each staff member are listed below:

Gracie Allen, Foundation and Alumni Association development officer, earned her bachelor's degree in nutritional sciences from Oklahoma State University. She previously worked at Pure Barre Studio in Midtown Tulsa.

Mickal Arvie, assistant football coach, holds a master's degree in adult education management and administration from Northwestern. He holds experience as a student worker in the J.R. Holder Wellness Center and as a graduate assistant with Ranger Football.

Sandra Boston, South Hall supervisor and resident life coordinator, previously worked in Shattuck for Venture Foods and also owned and operated Ed's Cafe.

Sterlin Broomfield, cross country/track and field assistant coach, holds a master's degree in adult education management and administration from Northwestern. He has been the assistant in the Student Support Services (SSS) grant office and night technician in the ITV dept.

Karolyn Cole, Upward Bound project coordinator, has a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Northwestern. She has taught as a fourth-grade teacher with Alva Public Schools and worked with Schwerdtfeger Hay & Grain.

Chonda Dees, financial aid counselor, holds a bachelor's degree in sociology from Northwestern. She previously worked as the executive assistant at BancCentral in Alva and is a licensed cosmetologist.

Abby Detar, Bill Johnson Correctional Center treatment counselor, earned her bachelor's degree in psychology from Northwestern. She previously worked as a student worker in the J.R. Holder Wellness Center and in the psychology department.

Josh Evans, assistant football coach/passing game coordinator, holds a bachelor's degree in kinesiology from the University of La Verne in California and has previously worked as a graduate assistant for Ranger Football as a coach for quarterbacks and wide receivers.

Sarah Fletcher, SSS project adviser, received her master's degree in counseling psychology from Northwestern. Her previous work experience includes being a counselor with the Oklahoma Department of Vocational Rehabilitation and with Northwest Family Services in Alva.

Kyle Fuller, police chief, earned his associate’s degree in police science from OSU-OKC. His previous work experience includes being a deputy with the Woods County Sheriff's Office and the Alva Police Department. He also served six years in the Army National Guard.

Blake Garnett, systems analyst – Alva campus, received his bachelor's degree in computer science from Northwestern. He has previously worked at Northwest Technology Center, G & G Home Furnishings, Alva Public Schools and Garnett Oil Co.

Miranda Gilliland, custodian, has previously worked at Taco Village in Alva and also with the university’s grounds maintenance.

Georgie Gerbine, BJCC treatment counselor, holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from Northwestern. She has previously worked in sales for AT&T, at Alva's Market and as a medical records assistant.

Bailie Gooch, J.R. Holder Wellness Center assistant director, has a bachelor's degree in health and sports science education from Northwestern. She has previously worked in the J.R. Holder Wellness Center as a graduate assistant, fitness instructor and certified personal trainer.

Miriam Hicks, library/housing assistant, has previously worked as an office support assistant with the State of Missouri Department of Corrections and social media manager for Cherokee Strip Museum in Alva.

Jakeria Otey, assistant women’s basketball coach, received her master's degree in adult education management and administration from Northwestern. She was the graduate assistant with the Lady Ranger basketball team, substitute teacher for Alva Schools and helped with Boys & Girls Club in Arkansas.

Azucena Rivera, custodian, has worked as a packaging assistant with Value Added Products in Alva and also worked at DD's Discount Store and Six Flags.

Karen Rodriguez, SSS project adviser, holds a bachelor's degree in general studies from Northwestern. She previously worked as a student worker in the student services department at Northwestern.

Ethan Sacket, student success coordinator, holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Northwestern. He has previously worked as a Northwestern resident life assistant, tutor with Upward Bound and coordinated brand development for VAP in Alva.

Andrew Santangelo, assistant athletic director for communications, received his master's degree in adult education management and administration from Northwestern. He previously worked as an intern with OSU Cowboy Athletics and as a graduate assistant with Northwestern athletic communications.  

Emma Sporleder, Foundation and Alumni Association communications and marketing manager, holds a bachelor's degree in mass communication from Northwestern. She has previously been a student worker with Northwestern athletic communications.

Wendi Stonehocker, Foundation and Alumni Association office manager, has previously worked as a customer service associate with BancCentral in Alva.

Tylar Thompson, admissions counselor/recruiter, earned her bachelor's degree in mass communication from Northwestern. She has previously worked as a lead business service representative for the Western Oklahoma Workforce Development Board and a career manager with Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act.

Lisa Vermillion, administrative assistant to the vice president for administration, has worked as a secretary and paraprofessional with Alva Public Schools, owner/operator of a daycare service and previously worked in Northwestern’s nursing department.

Madison Wilson, head cashier, received her bachelor's degree in history from Northwestern. She has previously worked part-time for Northwestern’s recruitment office and business office and helped with drama camp for the Gaslight Theatre in Enid.

Ryan Wondrasek, head softball coach, has a master's degree in secondary education sports administration from East Central University. He has served as the athletic director at Seward County Community College in Kansas and was the assistant softball coach at the University of Nebraska-Omaha and St. Gregory's University.
