March 24, 2023

Guthrie Scottish Rite recipients 23

Three Northwestern Oklahoma State University seniors were awarded the 2023 Guthrie Scottish Rite Scholarship given by the Guthrie Scottish Rite Charitable and Educational Foundation.

Those awarded this semester are Candace Brown of Blackwell, early childhood education; Nastassja Gee of Edmond, elementary education; and Toni Schram of Enid, early childhood education.

Each semester the scholarships are awarded to teacher candidates who are completing their professional semester.

Dr. Steven Maier, dean of faculty, presented the students with their scholarships.

The Guthrie Scottish Rite Charitable and Educational Foundation works primarily with children with language and/or reading disorders. Recipients are chosen by the Teacher Education faculty members who have reviewed all applications and voted for the candidate they felt was the best choice.
