What the Master of Education in School Counseling Covers

Northwestern’s Master of Education in School Counseling equips graduate candidates with strategies and techniques for their roles as school counselors, including data analysis, counseling techniques, child development and other counseling-related topics.

Clinical Courses Taught by Licensed Professionals

“We teach the clinical counseling courses required for the school counseling program,” said Dr. Bailey Lancaster, Northwestern Department of Psychology chair and assistant professor of psychology.

“These courses are taught by mental health professionals who hold clinical licensure in the state of Oklahoma, so students are receiving clinical knowledge and training from licensed professionals that they can apply directly to their work in the K-12 public school system,” Lancaster said.
