Northwestern Division of Education Planning First Future Educator’s Day

February 2, 2024

Northwestern Oklahoma State University’s Division of Education is excited to announce its first Future Educator’s Day on Feb. 7, from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Struckle Education Center, room 109, on the Alva campus.

Nearly 100 high school students and sponsors are registered to attend to discuss the education profession, preparation and information about Northwestern's education program.

“We are looking forward to welcoming these students to campus and introducing them to the teaching profession,” Dr. Jen Oswald, chair of the Division of Education, said.

Guest speakers include Dr. Dudley Darrow, Enid Public Schools Superintendent who graduated from Northwestern with a bachelor’s degree in Health and Physical Education in 2002; Dr. Melissa Brevetti, Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education and Oklahoma Teacher Connection; and Jess Tucker, Oklahoma coordinator for the Inspired to Teach scholarship.

Questions should be directed to Oswald at jdoswald@nwosu.edu or call (580) 327-8451. Additional information about Northwestern’s education program may be found at https://www.nwosu.edu/school-of-professional-studies/education.
