Miss Northwestern, Outstanding Teen to be crowned Oct. 28

Four Northwestern students will be participating in the Miss Northwestern competition set for Sunday, Oct. 28. They are Katherine Blair of Waynoka; EmmaRae Cook of Alva; Lyzeth Guevara of Guymon; and Alysson Stewart of Burlington.

Miss Northwestern Oklahoma State University Macie Malone and Miss Northwestern’s Outstanding Teen Carli Seabolt will pass on their crowns Sunday, Oct. 28, to the two women who will be chosen to represent the university at the Miss Oklahoma Pageant in the coming year.

The competitions will take place in Herod Hall Auditorium at 4 p.m. Doors open at 3:30 p.m. Tickets are available in the Northwestern Business Office or from candidates. General admission is $8 in advance or $10 at the door and $3 for students with ID. Tickets also are available from Chesnei Thomas, executive director, at cdthomas@nwosu.edu or Jennifer Redinger, office manager of the Office of Recruitment, at (580) 327-8546 or jmredinger@nwosu.edu. 

Competing for the Miss Northwestern title are: Katherine Blair, junior instrumental music major from Waynoka; EmmaRae Cook, senior general studies major from Alva; Lyzeth Guevara, junior criminal justice major from Guymon; and Alysson Stewart, junior biology major from Burlington.

Four high school students are participating in Miss Northwestern’s Outstanding Teen competition. Teens competing are: Abi Beane of Altus; Elise Burmeister of Tulsa; Gracie Furfey of Altus; and Autumn Hudgins of Midwest City.

Candidates in both competitions will be judged in talent, interview, lifestyle and fitness and onstage question categories. Each contestant in both the Miss and Teen categories will receive participation scholarship awards, and placement determines other prize earnings.
