CANCELED: SOEA members to host 'Ride, Rangers, Ride' POPart paint party fundraiser Nov. 17

November 8, 2018

SOEA's POPart fundraiser is Nov. 17.

Northwestern Oklahoma State University Student Oklahoma Education Association will be having a “Ride, Rangers, Ride” POPart paint party fundraiser Saturday, Nov. 17, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Student Center Ballroom. Cost per person is $40, and seating is limited. This event is open to the public.

To reserve a seat and materials pre-register with Dr. Jennifer Oswald, assistant professor of education, at (580) 327-8451 or or via the PayPal link

Food, supplies, templates and seating for up to 80 people will be provided.

Oswald said the fundraiser is a guided paint party led by Tina O’Neal with POPart. She said there will not only be a Ranger paint option, but also a fall paint option, and each painting can be customized.

Oswald said they have done fundraisers with POPart before, and she likes how professional, fun and artistic O’Neal is.

“We wanted to do something fun and different,” Oswald said. “We always have T-shirt sales; we’ve done cotton candy in the past, but this has the potential to be something that can generate enough money for us to attend Spring Conference and pay for all our hotel rooms.”

During the paint party SOEA members also will have a dip sales fundraiser through Mom and Me Specialties. They will have samples made by the mixes provided by the local vendor, and dips will be available to purchase.

Oswald said she encourages students to attend this event because it helps support other students, and it will be fun.

“I think sometimes we get so busy that we forget we need time to relax,” Oswald said. “This is kind of a creative outlet to be able to do that. Just to relax, be creative and be able to de-stress a little. This time of year, that’s very necessary.”
