17 Senior Education Students Begin Student Teaching in Local Schools

Seventeen senior education students from Northwestern Oklahoma State University are taking their final step toward becoming professional educators.

In their last semester, they’ve been assigned to local schools, where they will gain hands-on teaching experience and put their knowledge into practice.

“This is the first class of student-teachers I’ve had the pleasure to teach,” said Dr. Jen Oswald, chair of the Northwestern Division of Education and associate professor of education. “I am excited to see what they go out and do in the world.”

The students will return to campus for seminars in October and November with their exit interviews in December. Graduation and the education pinning ceremony are scheduled for Dec. 8.

The students, their hometowns and teaching assignments are listed below by their degree path.
