Northwestern Oklahoma State University Presents Student-Directed One-Act “Monster” Oct. 1-3

Seventeen Northwestern Oklahoma State University students will perform “Monster,” a one-act historical horror play by Don Zolidis, Oct. 1-3 in Fellers Family Auditorium in Herod Hall in Alva, Oklahoma. Admission is $5 for students and senior citizens, $7 for Northwestern employees and $10 for general admission.

The Reichenberger Department of Fine Arts theatre program is set to present the production. Jaden Matthews, a senior speech and theatre major from Hennessey, Oklahoma, is directing the show as her senior capstone project.

Performance Dates, Times and Admission

  • Thursday, Oct. 1 – 7 p.m.
  • Friday, Oct. 2 – 7 p.m.
  • Saturday, Oct. 3 – 2 p.m.
  • Location: Fellers Family Auditorium, Herod Hall, Northwestern Oklahoma State University, Alva, Oklahoma
  • Admission: $5 for students and senior citizens, $7 for Northwestern employees, $10 general admission

About the Production

“Monster” reimagines the lives of several of history’s best-known writers and the summer that inspired Mary Shelley’s “Frankenstein.” Northwestern presents the play through a special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service, Inc.

The one-act includes several short pieces, each with its own cast: “Frankenstein,” “A Discovery,” “The Skull,” “Fragment of a Novel,” “The Dead Bride” and “The Grey Room.”

Production Crew

Bella Anguino, Glenpool junior majoring in speech and theatre, is the stage manager. The fall 2026 Theatre Production I and II classes are handling scenery, lighting, costumes, audio and effects.
