Northwestern Oklahoma State University’s Department of Social Work is thrilled to announce a partnership with Haruv USA to provide an exclusive training opportunity in Woodward.
“Exploring the Intersection between Infant Mental Health and Clinical Maltreatment” will be presented on Monday, April 22, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Woodward Convention Center located at 3401 Centennial Lane.
“We are excited to announce our partnership with Haruv USA and offer a training that highlights our support for our new infant and early childhood mental health minor at Northwestern,” Dr. Kylene Rehder, chair of the department of social work, social work program director and professor of social work, said. “We encourage students and helping professionals from all disciplines to join us for an exciting afternoon of learning and networking.”
This three-hour session is tailored for both students and professionals seeking a deeper understanding of the relationship between child maltreatment and infant mental health. Learners can expect to explore key concepts related to trauma and attachment, relevant research findings, and acquire practical tools to positively contribute to the well-being of vulnerable children and families. This training is ideal for teachers, social workers, child welfare specialists, counselors, and those in the medical field.
The training will be provided by Ashleigh Kraft, LPC-S, who is the owner of Balanced Perspectives LLC., where she provides consultation and training in the areas of infant mental health, non-profit leadership, and trauma informed care.
The major areas of focus in her professional experiences have included working with survivors of domestic violence, child maltreatment, and interpersonal trauma. She is trained to provide Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) and Circle of Security and Reflective Supervision. She is a state-wide trainer for CPP in Oklahoma and is endorsed through Zero to Three as a provisionally certified state trainer for DC:0-5.
Kraft is passionate about the power of relationships, supporting the professional growth of therapists, and the importance of early relationships.
Haruv USA is an international training institute that provides interprofessional education and training for professionals and students from a wide variety of settings in the field of child maltreatment. Haruv USA’s innovative programs equip professionals working with abused and neglected children with up-to-date theoretical and empirical knowledge to meet their needs.
