Miller Analogies Test (MAT)
The MAT is required for admission to graduate programs at Northwestern and many other universities.
The MAT is a high-level test of analytical ability that requires the solution of problems stated as analogies. The MAT consists of 120 partial analogies that are to be completed in 60 minutes. The test measures your ability to recognize relationships between ideas, your fluency in the English language, and your general knowledge of the humanities, natural sciences, mathematics, and social sciences.
The cost of the MAT at Northwestern is $80.00. Payment should be made at the Business Office in Herod Hall if taking the test in Alva or in the front office if taking the test in Enid before coming to the testing room. Check or cash only in Enid.
Admission to the test requires the following:
- Receipt for payment from the Business Office
- Government-issued ID (driver's license, passport)
