DESCRIPTION:Northwestern Oklahoma State University will be receiving the Pro Patria Award from the\nOklahoma Committee of Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) during a presentation on Friday,\nSept 25, at 10 a.m. in the Student Center Ranger Room on the Alva campus.\nPaul Ray, State Chair of the Oklahoma ESGR Committee (Chief Master Sergeant, Retired), will be\npresenting the award in recognition of Northwestern’s support of employees serving in the National Guard\nand Reserve.\nThe Pro Patria Award is one of ESGR’s highest state-level honors for supportive employers.\nCriminal Justice instructor Kirk Rogers of the NWOSU Department of Social Sciences helped coordinate\narrangements for the presentation. University representatives associated with the recognition include Dr.\nEric J. Schmaltz, chair of the Department of Social Sciences; Dr. Roxie James, university dean; Dr. Steve\nMaier, university vice-president; and Dr. Bo Hannaford, university president.\nESGR works to strengthen cooperation between Reserve Component service members and their civilian\nemployers.
