Northwestern prepares for Woods County Fair

September 4, 2009

Woods County Fair patrons will have the opportunity to get their blood pressure checked, meet members of the men’s Ranger basketball team and register for prizes at Northwestern Oklahoma State University’s booth in the Merchants Building Sept. 10-11.

Members of the university’s nursing program will be at the booth from 7:30 to 9 p.m., Thursday, and 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., Friday, to provide blood pressure checks as a service to the community.

Members of the men’s basketball team will take a turn at the booth from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Anyone who stops by the Northwestern booth will have the opportunity to sign up for a variety of prizes to be given away each day of the fair. Prizes include Northwestern T-shirts, pairs of season tickets to the Northwest Oklahoma Concert Series, one-year subscriptions to the Northwestern News and much more.

A one-year membership in the Alumni Association will be awarded to a Northwestern graduate each night of the fair.

Members of the faculty and staff will be at the booth Thursday and Friday from 10 to answer questions about Northwestern.
