Are you started on that paper yet? The one your professor just assigned that isn’t due for another three months. Plenty of time, right? Well, whether you would like to give it a shot now or are desperately trying to write 10-12 pages at 3 a.m., the library has the link for the OWL at Purdue. The MLA and APA style guide located at this site can often give you the answers you need quick (about style and citation anyway – how to get a day’s grace on an assignment is up to you).
The Online Writing Lab (OWL) at Purdue University houses writing resources and instructional material, and provides these as a free service. Students, members of the community, and users worldwide will find information to assist with many writing projects.
Links at the left of the main OWL page in MLA or APA will take you to the formatting section you need.
PLEASE NOTE: All professors are different. Some may adhere to a certain style guide they wish to you purchase and follow and may not accept some of the suggestions given by the OWL and other online style guides. Please check with your professors before completely relying on any online style guide as your main source of formatting information.
