  • Visiting Writers Series presents Enid native: Quraysh Ali Lansana

    April 22, 2015--A Brown Bag Reading, an event in conjunction with the Northwestern Oklahoma State University Visiting Writers Series, will be Thursday, April 30, at noon in the Ranger Perk. Enid native Quraysh Ali Lansana, also known as “Q,” will be reading from a collection of his poetry in honor of National Poetry Month. This event is sponsored by the English program and is free and open to the public.

  • Visiting Writers Series presents Oklahoma Writers Hall of Fame recipient: Rilla Askew

    March 11, 2015--Faculty members in Northwestern Oklahoma State University’s English program invite the Northwestern and surrounding communities to the Visiting Writers Series where Oklahoma Writers Hall of Fame Recipient Rilla Askew will be reading from a collection of her fiction works Tuesday, March 24, from 6:30-9 p.m. in the J.W. Martin Library at Northwestern-Alva. This event is free and open to the public.

  • Artist donates two-piece sculpture to Northwestern English department

    December 22, 2014--Northwestern Oklahoma State University’s English department recently received a two-piece sculpture donated by Sheldon and Nancy Russell that is to be sold to raise funds toward an endowed lectureship for the Visiting Writer’s Series.               

  • Visiting Writers' Series to feature Abigail Keegan

    March 15, 2012 -- As the second speaker in the Visiting Writers Series sponsored by the English, Foreign Language, and Humanities Department at Northwestern Oklahoma State University, Abigail Keegan will read poetry on Thursday, March 29, at 7 p.m. Held in the J.W. Martin Library, Keegan also will have copies of her latest book,“Depending on the Weather,” available for purchase and signing at the reading.
