Only 20 spots remain for “Picture My Weekend” on July 29-30 – a free photography show and workshop at the Runnymede Hotel in downtown Alva sponsored by the Northwestern Creativity Project.
“Picture My Weekend” is an event structured to help people of all digital photography skill levels and for varying types of digital cameras.
Registration is required and is open through Tuesday, July 26, or until 60 people have registered. After July 26, there will be a $20 registration fee. An online registration form is available at www.nwosu.edu/photog-registration.
Participants who already have registered are coming from Alva, Booker (Texas), Cherokee, Chickasha, Enid, Edmond, Fairmont, Guthrie, Hennessey, Lake City (Kan.), Lone Wolf, Medicine Lodge (Kan.), Meeker, Mooreland, Nash, Ponca City, Ringwood, Vici, Waynoka and Woodward.
Participants are encouraged to take part in the “Scavenger Hunt” assignment to shoot three photos that will be used in a slide show that caps the workshop. The Alva community will see many photographers out and about on Saturday, July 30, taking pictures.
On Friday, July 29, the public is invited to attend a free photography show from 7-9 p.m. Photographs from participants will be displayed for the free show in the Runnymede Hotel. Entertainment and refreshments also will be provided.
Max Ridgway, along with two Northwestern students Caleb Hackler, Blanchard sophomore, and Darryl Petty, Horn Lake, Miss., junior, will provide musical entertainment for the evening, and refreshments prepared by the Nescatunga ladies also will be served.
