Oklahoma high school seniors and juniors who enroll in classes at Northwestern Oklahoma State University will now be eligible to receive tuition waivers for up to six hours per semester.
The program will begin with the upcoming fall semester that starts Aug. 18.
Students choosing to participate in the concurrent enrollment program must meet minimum performance standards set forth by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education.
Many higher education institutions in Oklahoma offer concurrent enrollment tuition waivers to seniors, but Northwestern is expanding its offer to include juniors.
“Concurrent enrollment is becoming a popular method for beginning the college experience,” said Dr. Janet Cunningham, president of Northwestern. “This program allows many students the opportunity to earn college credit and save a substantial amount of money on tuition costs.”
Students enrolled in classes are still responsible for purchasing textbooks and paying for institutional and course specific fees.
Information about the concurrent enrollment program can be obtained by calling the Office of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management, at (580) 327-8415.
