“Aventura le espera” – Adventure awaits! The Northwestern Foundation & Alumni Association invites alumni and friends of the university to explore Spain this July.

John Allen, Director of Alumni Relations, leads the nine-day tour July 16-24, which includes visits to Madrid, Toledo and Cordoba, Seville, Gibraltar, Granada, Marbella and Ronda Excursion and Costa del Sol.

During the trip, alumni and friends of Northwestern have the opportunity to visit several cathedrals and royal palaces such as the Palacio Real, San Nicolas de los Servitas, Alcazar de los Reyes Cristianos and the Alhambra. Take a step back into time while walking through the Plaza Mayor (medieval Madrid), El Greco’s Home and the Alcazar (Moorish fortress), the Barrio Santa Cruz (the old Jewish quarter) and the Prado, one of the world’s largest museums.

Among the sights to see are the stunning views at Gibraltar, a British colony also known as the “Rock”. Grafted onto a steep and rocky Spanish hillside, the group will ride a cable car 1,350 feet up to the Top of the Rock to take in spectacular views of the city and even Africa on clear days.

Drive along the blue Mediterranean coast in the millionaires’ resort of Marbella before heading into the Serrania de Ronda – split into two areas by the Tajo ravine. Here guided tours will take the group through narrow alleys and past white houses garlanded with flowers and ornamental ironwork balconies. End the Spanish adventure with a full day of leisure to lounge on the glorious sandy beaches at Costa del Sol before heading home.

The double occupancy price per person is $3,469. Add an additional $350 for single occupancy. The trip includes round-trip airfare from Oklahoma City or Tulsa, seven nights of lodging at four-star hotels, breakfast daily, six dinners, English speaking escort, services of air-conditioned deluxe motor coach, all guides, entrances, touring and transportation. Tips, some meals and travel insurance are not included in the tour price.

A $300 deposit is due March 31, and the deadline for final payments is May 13. To request more information or to make reservations, contact Allen at 580-327-8594 or Reservations also can be made online at
