SHAWNEE, Okla. (11-14-11) – Late Friday night, the Sooner Athletic Conference released the women’s soccer All-Conference teams with a Northwestern Oklahoma State University Ranger finding her name on the list.
For her efforts this season in the box, freshman goal keeper Caitlin Thorpe has been named to the second team All-Conference team. The Ponca City, Okla., native finished 3-5-1 this season.
This season, Thorpe finished third in the conference with 6.08 saves a game and seventh overall in total saves with 73. Her 73 saves this season places her fifth on the list for most saves in a Ranger uniform.
In her first home game of the year against Bethany College (Kan.), Thorpe picked up a shutout and four saves, and she had a season high nine saves in a home victory against Wayland Baptist on Oct. 29.
Thorpe played in 12 games during the 2011 campaign for the Rangers who finished 6-11-1 overall, and 2-8-1 in conference play.
