April 12, 2013 -- Northwestern Oklahoma State University and Oklahoma Blood Institute (OBI) invite all local and area residents to donate blood on April 18 in the Student Center Ballroom. The blood drive will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

March 4, 2013 -- Northwestern Oklahoma State University’s Woodward campus is partnering with Oklahoma Blood Institute (OBI) to ask all area residents to give blood on Wednesday, March 6, and Thursday, March 7, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at a blood drive that will occur at 2007 34th Street in Woodward.

February 18, 2013 --Weather conditions on Wednesday shortened the blood drive at Northwestern Oklahoma State University. Fortunately, the Oklahoma Blood Institute will return on Monday, Feb. 25, for a make-up drive in the Student Center Ranger Room from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

November 27, 2012 -- It will be a “University Department Throw-Down Challenge” for Northwestern Oklahoma State University’s annual December Blood Drive with the Oklahoma Blood Institute (OBI). The drive, which is sponsored by the National Guard GOLD program, is set for Wednesday, Dec. 5, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., in the Student Center Ranger Room on the Alva campus. The drive is open to everyone on and off campus.

October 1, 2012 -- Oklahoma Blood Institute (OBI) encourages all healthy Alva-area residents to donate blood at Northwestern Oklahoma State University from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 2, and Wednesday, Oct. 3. The President’s Leadership Class is sponsoring this drive.

September 6, 2012  -- Each fall Northwestern Oklahoma State University teams up with Oklahoma Blood Institute (OBI) to play host to blood drives. In September, Northwestern will have two blood drives, one in Enid and the other in Woodward.

June 18, 2012 -- The Oklahoma Blood Institute’s summer blood drive at Northwestern Oklahoma State University is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesday, June 27. A goal of 60 units has been set. This summer, the drive is being sponsored by students in the Upward Bound program. Due to renovations in the Student Center, the drive’s site has been moved to the Alabaster Room on the third floor of Vinson Hall. Vinson Hall is located directly across College Avenue from the Church of Christ.

 

April 30, 2012 -- During a one-day blood drive last week at Northwestern Oklahoma State University, 138 Rangers helped save lives by donating at the Oklahoma Blood Institute Blood Drive and surpassing the goal of 120 donors.

Oklahoma Blood Institute (OBI) will host a blood drive from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesday, April 25, in the Student Center Ranger Room.

February 14, 2012 -- Alva-area residents can ‘share the love’ this February by donating blood with Oklahoma Blood Institute (OBI). All donors at the two-day Northwestern Oklahoma State University blood drive, held in the Ranger Room, Wednesday, Feb. 22, and Thursday, Feb. 23, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., will receive an OBI ice scraper, free health screenings and Donor Rewards Points.

The importance of Northwestern Oklahoma State University’s Fall Blood Drives Oct. 4-6 is hitting close to home again as the university community reaches out to help one of its own through blood donations. Bradley Gilbert, a 2007 mass communications graduate from Enid, has battled leukemia for four years. After being in remission, the leukemia is back, and Gilbert will be in need of several blood products as he goes through his treatment. He’s currently receiving treatment at the OU Medical Center-Presbyterian Tower in Oklahoma City.

Sorority sisters from Alpha Sigma Alpha and Delta Zeta at Northwestern Oklahoma State University helped encourage students to donate blood during a two-day blood drive for the Oklahoma Blood Institute (OBI) this week.

With the decline in donations due to recent winter weather, the Oklahoma Blood Institute (OBI) has declared a blood emergency with less than a one-day supply. Northwestern Oklahoma State University wants to help OBI with the blood shortage and encourages all healthy donors to give blood at Northwestern-Woodward on Wednesday, Feb. 9, and Thursday, Feb.10, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

There were 160 donors who signed up to give blood that day. Members of the Student Government Association at Northwestern Oklahoma State University will play host to a one-day blood drive on Wednesday, April 14, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Percefull Fieldhouse. Donors will receive a free tote bag, health screening and member for life points. Individuals must also present a photo ID to donate.

The Oklahoma Blood Institute (OBI) collected 201 units of blood from donors during the Northwestern Oklahoma State University-Alva drive Feb. 10-11. A total of 13 units were collected during the Northwestern-Enid drive on Feb. 12.

Healthy students, employees and community members, 17 and older, are encouraged to donate blood at Northwestern Oklahoma State University-Alva on Wednesday and Thursday, Feb. 10 and 11, or at Northwestern-Enid on Friday, Feb. 12.

The Oklahoma Blood Institute (OBI) collected 301 units of blood from donors during the Northwestern Oklahoma State University-Alva drive Oct. 7-8. A total of 21 units were collected during the Northwestern-Enid drive on Oct. 9.

The organization’s goal was to receive 100 units of blood and Northwestern students and employees reached the goal by providing 123 units for OBI.
