The purpose of the NWOSU SNA is to assume responsibility for contributing to nursing education in order to provide for the highest quality health care; to provide programs representative of fundamental and current professional interest and concern, and to aid in the development of the whole person, his/her professional role, and his/her responsibility for the health care of people in all walks of life.

    National Student Nurses Association

    Community services SNA participated in this year:

    Fall:                                                                                                                                    
    • Flu-shot clinic provided to each community at each campus
    • Performed blood pressure readings, blood glucose levels, and therapeutic touch at county fairs.                              
    • Fall fair for safe Trick-or-Treating.
    • Volunteered for WW Regional Hospital and ER staff disaster drills. 
    • Volunteer at the Women's Crisis Center in Alva

    Spring:  

    • Health Fair booths that include: blood pressure readings, blood glucose, therapeutic touch, car seat safety, breat and ovarian cancer awareness, first aide booth, health risks concerning obesity and prevention, pregnancy prevention and birth control, weights and BMI, household germs and how to destroy them, SIDS education, post-partum depression, pink eye and prevention, gestional diabetes risks and prevention.

    • Established a team and participated in March of Dimes walk
