Senior nursing students at Northwestern Oklahoma State University will be on hand presenting their posters and assisting at the Stroke Awareness Workshop on Monday, April 27, from 1-5:30 p.m., at the First United Methodist Church in Alva.
Mary Pinzon, RN, is the guest speaker for the event. She is the Community Education Specialist for the Integris James R. Daniel Stroke Center in Oklahoma City. Pinzon is the chair for the community education sub-committee for a statewide stroke task force. Through this sub-committee she helps develop stroke education training sessions for volunteer and parish nurses.
During the workshop there will be healthy snacks and prizes.
This Stroke Awareness Workshop is co-sponsored by Northwestern Community Health Nursing Students and the Health and Wellness Ministry of First United Methodist Church in Alva.
