International Student Admission

Application For Admission

Admission Information and Application:
Each section of the application must be completed.  Questions that are left unanswered and/or if the educational history is incomplete, the admission process will be delayed.  The student is required to complete and sign the application.

Application Deadlines:
Fall Semester: July 15     Spring Semester: November 1     Summer Session: April 1
(Applications received after the deadline date will be processed for the next available semester)

Application Fee:
$15.00 money order or cashier’s check made payable to Northwestern Oklahoma State University and drawn on a U.S. bank or bank based in the U.S.
*DO NOT SEND CASH OR FOREIGN POSTAL* (This fee is also non-refundable)

Financial Guarantee:
The purpose of this form is to provide proof to Northwestern Oklahoma State University that the student has financial resources to cover the cost of the first year’s institutional expenses.  This document must be signed by both the student and the guarantor and countersigned as well as sealed by the guarantor’s bank.  If the guarantor’s bank prefers to issue a letter, the letter should be issued on bank stationery and signed by a bank official.  Monetary values need to be converted to the U.S. dollar.

Transcripts:
The student must submit official transcripts from the high school they graduated from and also any colleges or universities that the student has previously attended.  If the transcripts are not in English, a certified evaluation is required.  If photocopies of records are sent, the student will be expected to bring the original educational records when you arrive at Northwestern State University to enroll.

TOEFL or IELTS:
An official TOEFL score (500 for a paper-based test, 173 for a computer-based test or 61 for an internet-based test), or IELTS score (6.0 or higher) is required of all students for whom English is a second language.  The TOEFL or IELTS must have been taken within the last two years.  A waiver of this requirement can be obtained for transfer students who have earned 24 hours of college-level credit, with passing grades, at a recognized college/university in which English is the medium of instruction and in a country where English is the official language.

Immunization Form:
The Northwestern Immunization Form is included in the Application for Admission Packet.  This must be completed and returned to Northwestern Oklahoma State University.

I-20 Form:
When the International Student Office has received all of the required information, a decision will be made regarding admission.  If the student is academically accepted to Northwestern Oklahoma State University, the adequacy of financial support will then be evaluated to determine whether you are eligible to receive the appropriate immigration documents (I-20) to obtain a Student Visa and enter the United States.
