NWOSU STAFF COUNCIL
EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING
February 5, 2010 ** 9:00 am
Present: Lisa Herning, David Washington, Natalie Miller, Angelia, Denise Bay.
Absent: Karli Greenfield, Lindsey Weber, Fawn Kingcade
Dr. Garlough came and spoke with committee about helping out with hosting the Staff Assessment survey on Assessment Day. The Assessment Committee would like for Staff Council to help with sign-in and to pass out surveys. The committee would also like to have two committee members present at a time to help coordinate the day. Assessment Day is scheduled for April 7, 2010 in the Student Center Ballroom from 1:00-4:00p.m.
After Assessment Day has been completed, Dr. Garlough would be willing to come and give a report on the Staff Surveys to the Staff Council Committee.
Natalie motioned and Angelia seconded the motion to host Assessment Day. Lisa will follow up with Dr. Garlough to inform her of the committee’s decision.
Computer Training Classes:
There has been a great response to having the computer training classes.
Karen Sneary agreed to do computer training classes. Classes will be held on Tuesday’s from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and on Thursday’s from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
The committee agreed that having the training offered in the summer would work out best for the staff.
Lisa will send out February Campus Kudos reminder to all employees.
Campus Clean-up is scheduled for April 20th with a rain date of April 21st . This event has been put on the university calendar.
Lisa would like for Staff Council to volunteer as a group for the Big Event. Decision will be made closer to date.
Staff/Faculty Softball Game:
Committee decided not to have the softball game in the spring due to conflicts with trying to get the baseball field. Committee has decided to have the game held on September 9th or September 17th. Denise will find out the scheduled date for the Board of Regents to be on campus and the softball game will be scheduled around this event.
There was no discussion of any further business. The meeting adjourned at 9:50 am.
