  • Ranger Rodeo season wraps up, five qualify for college national finals

     April 27, 2015 -- The Northwestern Oklahoma State University Rodeo team did well at its last rodeo of the season at Oklahoma Panhandle State University in Guymon, but more importantly, the year-end standings qualified five Rangers for the College National Finals Rodeo (CNFR) in Casper, Wyo., June 14-20.

    November 4, 2014- The last rodeo of the fall season was hosted in Alva by the Northwestern Oklahoma State University Rodeo team.  Karley Kile, Topeka, Kan., senior, topped off her successful semester by winning the breakaway roping event as well as the All-Around Cowgirl title.

  • Northwestern Ranger Rodeo in Alva Thursday, Friday, Saturday

    October 29, 2014- About 500 contestants will be in Alva Thursday through Saturday for the annual Northwestern Oklahoma State University Ranger Rodeo. All performances will begin at 7 p.m. at the Woods County Fairgrounds Indoor Arena.

    November 17, 2011 - Former Northwestern Oklahoma State University rodeo star and current tour professional Stockton Graves has been selected to lead the men’s and women’s rodeo programs at his alma mater.

  • 19th Northwestern Sports Hall of Fame Class to be inducted Jan. 29

    The 2011 Northwestern Oklahoma State University Sports Hall of Fame class will be honored at a luncheon in the Student Center Ballroom at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 29, and formally inducted at halftime of the Ranger men’s basketball game against Rogers State University that afternoon in Percefull Fieldhouse. The women’s game will tip off at 2 p.m., and the men’s game is scheduled for 4 p.m. The 2011 inductees include Jason Bryant, of Alva, Stockton Graves, of Newkirk, Margo (Dobson) Hamilton, of Alva, and Drew Phillips, of Owasso.

  • Northwestern Sports Hall of Fame inductees announced

    Four former Northwestern Oklahoma State University athletes will be inducted as the 19th class of the Northwestern Sports Hall of Fame Saturday, Jan. 29. The 2011 inductees include Jason Bryant, football, Stockton Graves, rodeo, Margo (Dobson) Hamilton, women’s basketball, and Drew Phillips, baseball.
