The Northwestern Oklahoma State University Singers and University Chorale will present a program titled “Sing We Noel” on Thursday, Dec. 4, at 7:30 p.m., at Zion Lutheran Church, 518 Maple St., in Alva.
Under the direction of Dr. Stephen Kingsbury, director of choral and vocal studies, “Sing We Noel” presents works celebrating the holiday season.
Kingsbury said the program will feature carol settings from the Renaissance and early Baroque, as well as the 20th-century. The Christmas Oratorio by Camille Saint-Saens, will be presented with an orchestra, which includes Eve Switzer and Dena Haselwander, violin I; Dionna Fuston and Donna Heffron, violin II; James Nimmo, viola; Daphne Dougherty, cello; Shaemon Fuston, double bass; and Dr. Ling-Yu Kan, assistant professor of piano, playing the organ.
Featured soloists will include Northwestern students Ryan Wiebener, Alva senior, soprano; Charity Epperson, Mooreland senior, soprano; Crystal Herber, Alva junior, mezzo-soprano; Amy Hook, Alva, senior alto; Twiggy Fiala, Alva sophomore, contralto; Charlie Burns, Sayre junior, tenor; and Cory Kerr, Conway Springs (Kan.) sophomore, baritone.
The concert is free and open to the public.
