    March 26, 2015--Northwestern Oklahoma State University was awarded a 2015 OGE Start-Up Grant from Keep Oklahoma Beautiful (KOB), because of its participation in the Great American Cleanup™ (GAC) in Oklahoma.              

  • Northwestern gains recognition for community service projects

    March 8, 2013 -- Community service initiatives created by Northwestern Oklahoma State University students and employees have gained national recognition, and the university has been named to The President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll.

  • Northwestern Art Society earns service learning award

    December 17, 2012 -- ‘Tis the season to do something nice for others and give to those in need. Giving back is what the members of the Northwestern Oklahoma State University Art Society (NAS) do year round, and because of the group’s service learning efforts in the 2011-2012 school year, they have been given the perSERVEring Ranger Award by the Office of Service Learning and Civic Engagement (SLICE).

  • Service Fair scheduled to match organizations with volunteers

    Northwestern Oklahoma State University is sponsoring the first Woods County Service Fair Thursday, Oct. 7, from 1 to 5 p.m. in the Student Center Ballroom and on Tuesday, Oct. 19, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Commons Area on the Enid campus. The Fair is designed to connect volunteers with local organizations needing extra help, said Christi Vickers, Service Learning Coordinator at the university. The fair is free and open to all Northwestern students and employees, as well as members of the community who are interested in volunteering, either individually or as a group.

  • Northwestern recognized for contributions to the 2010 Census

    Northwestern Oklahoma State University received the 2010 Census Partner Appreciation Award in recognition of the contributions to the success of the Census. Christi Vickers, service learning coordinator, was on hand to accept the award. Dr. Robert M. Groves, director of the U.S. Census Bureau, was in attendance and acknowledged Northwestern’s support of the 2010 Census.
