Enid native to speak at young professionals meeting

Jan. 20, 2010

Northwestern Oklahoma State University-Enid, 2929 E. Randolph, will welcome Rich Taylor to campus at 7 p.m., on Wednesday, Jan. 27. Taylor will speak about leadership and show a DVD to the Greater Enid Young Professionals and to the newly formed Enid Marketing Professionals about leadership. The event will be held in the Commons area.

Taylor, a graduate of the University of Oklahoma, is a sought-after high school and collegiate choral and show choir clinician and adjudicator. He has been recognized with many alumni awards for service to his university and community. Taylor has served on several advisory boards, including the National Association for Music Education, the University of Oklahoma College of Fine Arts Board of Visitors and the OU Weitzenhoffer Family College of Fine Arts Advisory Board.

Before returning to OU in 2009 to serve as the dean of the Weitzenhoffer Family College of Fine Arts, Taylor’s career with Walt Disney Entertainment spanned three decades. While with Disney, he spent 10 years as the vice president of Disney’s live entertainment and costuming divisions. He also was a co-creator and producer for the Emmy Award-winning Walt Disney World Christmas Parade and the half-time show during Super Bowl XXXIV.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Taylor counts his 26 year marriage to professional vocalist Andy Taylor as one of his greatest successes. They have two sons, Blake and Zane.
