What is Freshman Connection?

Freshman Connection is a day designed for the high school senior who knows s/he is planning on attending Northwestern in the fall. This day is the first day for incoming freshman to enroll in classes. This day is very important because it allows you to meet advisors, see the campus, plus gives you the best opportunity to set up a schedule that is best for you. Your parents are welcome to tag along because we have a special time devoted to the parents as well. It is very important that you make it to Freshman Connection so you can get the best classes at the best times. Should you have any questions regarding Freshman Connection, please feel free to call us at 580-327-8546. We look forward to seeing you on April 16, 2008 for Freshman Connection!

How to be able to enroll at Freshman Connection:

Students must meet admission requirements to enroll at Freshman Connection.

The requirements are:Freshman Connection group

  1. ACT score of 17 or above OR

  2. ACT score of 16 and a seven-semester grade point average of 3.0

  3. If you do not meet these requirements or if you have any questions, please call (580) 327-8546.

9:00 - 9:15 - Welcome to Campus
9:15 - 12:30 - Placement Tests and Advisement
9:30 - 10:15 - Optional Parent Panel
12:00 Noon - Optional Campus Tour

Units

Course Areas

4 English (Grammar, Composition, Literature)
2 Lab Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics or any lab science certified by the school district. General Science may not be used to meet this requirement)
3 Mathematics (Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Math Analysis, Calculus)
2 History (Including one unit of American History)
1 Citizenship Skills (Economics, Geography, Government, Non-Western Culture)
3 Additional Units (Any previously listed subjects, Computer Science, Foreign Language)
