Northwestern social work senior, Raquel Conway of Fargo, was named the 2015 National Association of Social Workers, Oklahoma (NASW-OK) Undergraduate Student of the Year.
The Department of Social Work at Northwestern Oklahoma State University recently announced that Raquel Conway, Fargo, Okla., senior, was named the 2015 National Association of Social Workers, Oklahoma (NASW-OK) Undergraduate Student of the Year.
“During her time at Northwestern, Raquel has embodied the ideal qualities of professional social work, and we are excited her contributions to service and social justice are being recognized in such a prestigious way,” Dr. Kylene Rehder, social work department chair, said.
Conway will be presented the award at the NASW-OK Annual State Conference on April 27 at the Embassy Suites Hotel and Conference Center in Norman.
“I’m honored by this award and so privileged to be involved with the National Association of Social Workers, Oklahoma,” Conway said. “I credit the leadership opportunities, support for professional growth, demanding accredited curriculum and my social work professors as an important part of this achievement.”
Conway currently is completing a practicum with Loaves and Fishes Food Resource Center in Enid. She will be graduating in May and attending the University of Oklahoma’s Anne and Henry Zarrow School of Social Work to obtain her Master of Social Work degree with a concentration in Administration and Community Level Practice.
