ALVA, Okla.- The Northwestern Oklahoma State University men's basketball team fell to No. 23 Southern Nazarene 78-61 on Senior Night at Percefull Fieldhouse on Thursday.
Junior Marshall Bell had a solid showing for the Rangers (11-15, 8-11 Sooner Athletic Conference) scoring 18 points but Northwestern couldn't seem to get in a groove the entire night.
Southern Nazarene deserves a lot of the credit as they shot the lights out. The Crimson Storm shot just under 64 percent and just over 44 percent from three for the first half while the Rangers shot 31 percent. With the hot shooting, Southern Nazarene took a 14-point lead to the half and never looked back.
Despite the Rangers shooting 48 percent in the second half, they could not get back in the game.
Northwestern has three conference games left and currently sits at 8-11 a game out of the final spot for the SAC tournament set to begin on March 1.
Jonathan Freemyer scored 14 points while Daryl Glover added 12 to round out the Northwestern double-digit scorers.
Seniors Thiago Guilherme, Jeremy Felton and Jackson Kajander were honored in a pre-game ceremony.
The Rangers will travel to USAO for their next game set to take place at 5 p.m. on Saturday.
