Ranger Run set for Sept. 25, still time to register

September 10, 2010

The Northwestern Oklahoma State University Alumni Association and J.R. Holder Wellness Center will sponsor the 25th annual Ranger Run Saturday, Sept. 25. The 5K Ranger Run and 1 Mile Fun Run will begin at 8 a.m. in front of the Rialto Theater on the downtown square in Alva. Registration begins at 7:15 a.m., and Homecoming T-shirts are given to participants with each paid entry.

Medals and Wellness Center gift certificates will be awarded to the top three runners in each division of the 5K Run. Prizes also are awarded to the first three placings in the 1 Mile Fun Run, men's and women's age group categories. Trophies and certificates will be presented to the best overall male and female runners.

The Ranger Run is an exciting part of Homecoming festivities each fall for Northwestern and the Alva community. The 5K Ranger Run starts promptly at 8 a.m. Registration is by mail or in person until 7:45 a.m. the day of the run. Fees are $15 through Sept. 20. Runners can register after the deadline for $20.

The Ranger Fun Run begins shortly after 8 a.m., as soon as the Ranger 5K Runners have cleared the starting line. Registration is by mail or in person the day of the race until 7:45 a.m. Fees are $10 through Sept. 20, and $15 following that date. The course is one mile, and all children, adults, pets and Ranger fans are encouraged to participate.
